Department of Kazakh Language and Literature opened in 1954-1955 academic year. At the Faculty of History and Philology, students of the Kazakh language and literature specialty Kally Ayymbetov, Sajaddin Akhmetov, Kosherbay Berdimuratov, Aytjan Esemuratov, Algazi Bekbasov, RTTimasheva, J.A.Orynbaev, academician Gayyp Nepesov, Sultamirat Bekmukratov, Kamal Moldaxmedov, Balgigan Erjanova, Mariyam Alieva and Jumyrbay Kairbaev teach.
