The faculty was founded in 1956. The faculty consists of two departments: the Department of Physical Education and the Department of Physical Education by interfaculties. The departments have excellent students of public education of the Republics of Uzbekistan and Karakalpakstan, honored masters of sports of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. Many students of the Faculty of Physical Education of the Nukus State Pedagogical Institute named after Azhiniyaz are professional athletes. Students of our faculty annually participate in the national teams of Karakalpakstan in football and volleyball at competitions and championships of the republican scale, and also participate in the national team of Uzbekistan in martial arts at international championships. The women’s volleyball team of the Novosibirsk State Pedagogical Institute, headed by the Honored Coach of Karakalpakstan, Master of Sports Azat Kazakov, is the leading one in the Republic of Karakalpakstan. His pupils are Universiade champions, winners of gold and silver awards. Particularly noteworthy is the fact that the students of our faculty, as part of the national team of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, won an honorable second place in the team competition at the student competitions “Universiade-2021”
