History of the Department:

     Based on the proposal of the Dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture A.Utepbergenov and the structure of the Institute, approved by the 3-protocol of the Council of the Nukus State Pedagogical Institute named after Ajiniyaz dated October 30, 2022, by order №77 D1 dated April 06, 2023, the Department of “Sports Sciences” was created on the basis of the Department of “Physical Education” within the structure of Physical Culture, and the position of Head of the Department of “Sports Sciences” was assigned to Professor A. Niyazov.

Teaching staff of professors :

     Currently, 20 professors and teachers work  in the Department of Sports Sciences, of which 2 professors, 2 associate professors, 8 senior professors, and 8 assistant professors provide deep knowledge to students. Since the establishment of the Department of Sports Sciences, in a short period of time, professors and teachers have published: 1 textbook, 4 study guides, scientific articles in more than 30 journals approved by the Higher Attestation Commission, including 5 articles in journals included in the Scopus database.

 Sports clubs at the Department of Sport Sciences:

     Sport clubs have been established under the Department of Sports Sciences for the 2023-2024 academic years. “Volleyball,” “Handball,” “Football,” “Basketball” – these sports clubs are headed by professors and teachers of the department, and currently the members of the club take an active part in the “Universiada” sports competitions and also competitions held on the scale of Uzbekistan, occupying high places.
