From the composition of the faculty of physics and mathematics of the Karakalpak state pedagogical institute in 1961 the chair of “Industrial production and foundations” was founded. Nowadays, the department trains bachelors in “Labor education” and “Vocational education (Design)”. A total of 255 students are currently enrolled in this direction. At the department, there are 4 training laboratories, 2 laboratories and 2 science booths for the students to gain profound knowledge of the current demand. All subjects of the department are taught educational methodical complexes, modular systems, presentations and students are trained on the basis of new pedagogical technologies.

In the 2017-2018 academic year, the total load of the department is 15360 hours. There are 15 professors and teachers in the main staff of the department.

Nowadays there are 1 doctors of sciences, 3 candidates of sciences and senior lecturers, 7 senior teachers and 4 assistants. The scientific potential of the department is 29%.

In 2017 the senior lecturer B.Dauletmuratov successfully defended his doctoral dissertation and received the degree of doctor of technical sciences.

In the 2015-2016 academic year S.Amaniyazova, a student of the Department of Labor Education, took the 1 st place at the republican stage of the Contest “Supporting Young Entrepreneur-Country”;
