Information about the Information Resource Center of Nukus State Pedagogical Institute named after Ajiniyaz
The total book collection of the Information Resource Center of Nukus State Pedagogical Institute named after Ajiniyaz comprises 183,331 copies across 16,838 titles. This includes:
Textbooks and teaching aids — 83,945 copies across 4,840 titles;
Fiction — 43,679 copies across 8,156 titles;
Scientific literature — 23,366 copies across 486 titles;
Socio-political literature — 7,080 copies across 2,816 titles;
Foreign literature — 3,034 copies across 330 titles;
Other literature — 1,237 copies across 210 titles.
In 2024, the book collection was expanded with 3,200 new copies of books across 218 titles. In 2025, as of today, 4,363 copies of books across 258 titles have already been added. Thanks to the active replenishment of the collection, the center now serves an average of 920 users per day.
In 2025, the Information Resource Center organized a subscription to newspapers and magazines across 58 titles, totaling 415,105 UZS for 344 issues.
The Information Resource Center operates through 5 departments, which provide the following services:
- Department of Scientific and Methodological and Information Support;
- Department of Acquisition, Organization, and Systematization of Library Resources;
- Department of User Services for Information and Library Resources;
- Department of Electronic Information Resources;
- Department of Work with Foreign Information and Library Resources.
Newly acquired literature is published in monthly bulletins, which are shared with students and faculty members. In addition, the Information Resource Center regularly organizes book exhibitions dedicated to various dates, holidays, scientific-methodological conferences, and new book presentations. To promote reading widely, meetings, quizzes, and competitions are held.
The Information Resource Center has 5 distribution points for books and a computer room (electronic library) equipped with 48 computers, 4 multifunctional devices (printer/scanner/copier), 4 scanners, and 1 modern television.
According to the order of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated July 13, 2022, No. 225, and the rector’s order of the institute dated July 21 of the current year, No. 265D/1, the book collection of the Information Resource Center has been fully digitized and placed on the Unified Platform “Electronic Library” of the Ministry.
The center has developed an electronic catalog program under the name “ELEKTRON MA’LUMOT RESURSLARI”. The catalog contains information about all literature available at the institute, broken down by faculty and department, which allows students to quickly and conveniently find the necessary materials.
Thanks to cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, free access is provided to international electronic databases — Scopus, ScienceDirect (Elsevier), SpringerLink, Web of Science, as well as to scientific journals such as Nature, Oxford University Press, Cambridge University Press, Taylor & Francis, Wiley, and others. All these databases can be accessed through the electronic platform of the National Library named after Alisher Navoi.
In the field of international information resources, a “Consultation Center” has been successfully established and operates for working with foreign information and library resources.
The Information Resource Center actively cooperates with other centers in the republic, including the National Library named after A. Navoi, the Republican Information Resource Center of Karakalpakstan, and the Information Resource Center of Berdakh Karakalpak State University.
