Department of “Zoology, human morphophysiology and their teaching methods”
After our country achieved independence, in order to improve the training of school teachers, in the 1990-1991 academic year, the activities of the Nukus State Pedagogical Institute were re-established and the Department of Natural Science was organized at the Faculty of Primary Education Methodology, headed by K. Kaipbekov (1991) and B. Khabipov (1992). In connection with the further development of the faculty and changes in the areas of the bachelor’s degree, the name of the department has undergone many changes, and the departments have been merged and separated several times: the Department of Natural Science (1991-1993); separate departments of Zoology, Botany, Human Anatomy and Physiology, Biology, Methods of Teaching Biology (1993-2010). During these years, the heads of the department were A. Utambetov, B. Allamuratov, Sh. Allamuratov, A. Matchanov, K. Seypullaev, S. Mambetullaeva, F. Otenova, R. Khalmuratova.
In 2010-2012 the department was renamed to the Department of Zoology and Fundamentals of Medical Knowledge and was headed by PhD in Biology, Assoc. Prof. Sh. Allamuratov. In 2012-2016 the department was renamed again to the Department of Zoology and was headed by Assoc. Prof. K.M. Atanazarov. In 2016-2017, after the merger of two departments, it was renamed to the Department of Biology Teaching Methods and was headed by PhD in Biology, Assoc. Prof. M. Baltabaev, in 2017-2018 it was headed by PhD in Biology, Assoc. Prof. F. Otenova. Since 2018 the department has been named Zoology, Human Morphophysiology and Their Teaching Methods and was headed by PhD in Biology, Assoc. Prof. Sh. Allamuratov, in 2019-2023. Doctor of Philosophical Sciences PhD U. Kudaibergenova. Since September 9, 2023, the Department of Zoology, Human Morphology and Their Teaching Methods is headed by Doctor of Biological Sciences, PhD A.S. Berdibaev.
Currently, the department has 2 Doctors of Biological Sciences: B. Allamuratov, A. Saparov, 1 Candidate of Biological Sciences Zh. Saparbayev, 2 Doctors of Philosophy of Biological Sciences, PhD Associate Professors A. Berdibayev, M. Tadjibayeva, 1 Doctor of Philosophy of Pedagogical Sciences, PhD Acting Associate Professor A. Turekeeva, 1 Doctor of Philosophy of Biological Sciences, PhD B. Kalilaeva, 2 senior lecturers: E. Sultanov, L. Romanova, 6 teaching assistants: G. Utenova, G. Paluanova, Zh. Ubbiniyazova, A. Yeshmuratov, A. Bektursynov, F. Mamutova. The department’s number of scientific degrees holder is 46.6%.
The department trains undergraduate students in the field of study 60510100 – Biology and graduate students in the specialty 70510105 – Methods of Teaching Exact and Natural Sciences (Biology).
By the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan UP-2909, Appendix 2 dated April 20, 2017, it is indicated the improvement and modernization of the material and technical base of higher educational institutions, provision with modern educational and scientific laboratories, provision with modern information and communication technologies in 2017-2021. To ensure the implementation of the decree, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, with the help of the Islamic Development Bank, provided biology students and master’s students of the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the Nukus State Pedagogical Institute named after A.N. Azhiniyaz with educational and laboratory equipment to improve the quality of education. In the 2021-2022 academic year, 70 types of educational and laboratory equipment were delivered for a total of 449,423,585.06 soums, in the 2022-2023 academic year. 1 device for a total amount of 1818.94 US dollars, in the 2023-2024 academic year, 14 items of educational and laboratory devices for a total amount of 27,140.24 US dollars, in the 2024-2025 academic year, 5 items of educational and laboratory devices for a total amount of 122,721,000 soums.
The department has organized scientific circles “Young Zoologist” and “Young Physiologist” in which biology students are attracted depending on their interests and according to the drawn up plan, seminars are regularly held. Scientific research of students-members of the circle is supervised by professors-teachers and they give their consultations.
