NUKUS STATE PEDAGOGICAL INSTITUTE NAMED AFTER AJINIYAZ

Nukus State Pedagogical Institute will take an active part in educational programs of the USA

Nukus State Pedagogical Institute named after Ajiniyaz is going to take an active part in educational programs or projects supported by the government of the USA. This year on October 29 there were discussed these issues at the Institute with the representatives of the USA Embassy in Uzbekistan.

The main aim of this visit is to develop relationship between Uzbekistan and the USA related to educational exchange programs and other academic and professional opportunities between citizens of these two countries.

Learning English is one of most important tasks in the system of higher education nowadays. During their visit a public affairs officer of the U.S. Embassy  in Uzbekistan John Brown and a  program coordinator on English  Feruz Akobirov introduced participants with educational programs supported by the government of the USA and gave full information about Language Learning Programs.

This year since November an assistant teacher of English will start working at the Institute.

According to the Exchange Program which is called The Fulbright English Teaching Assistant foreign teachers will be teaching our students for 10 years to help native teachers and they will be working as cultural ambassadors of the USA.

During the meeting there were offered other programs by the representatives of Embassy as English Language Fellows, English Language Specialists.

The English Language Fellow Program sends U.S. educators in the field of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages on ten-month fellowships.  The Fellow program fosters mutual understanding, promotes English language learning, and enhances English teaching capacity.  Fellows share their professional expertise, hone their skills, gain international experience, and learn about other cultures.  Fellows model and demonstrate up-to-date TEFL classroom practices that help foster thoughtful and responsible practices in students and teachers of English.

The English Language Specialist Program recruits U.S. academics in the fields of Teaching English as a Foreign Language / Teaching English as a Second Language and Applied Linguistics for short-term assignments.  Specialists deliver quality English language programs and promote mutual understanding between the United States and other countries.  Specialist assignments may include teacher training, curriculum and textbook development, or program evaluation.

In this meeting there were also analyzed the issues on sending specialists to the USA for long- and short-term traineeship from our Institute to increase their qualifications in higher educational establishments.
